Navy League

Citizens in Support of the Sea Services.

Contact Us

Since our founding in 1902 with the enthusiastic cooperation, support and personal funding of Theodore Roosevelt, the Navy League has promoted the need for strength in American sea power.  Having served as Secretary of the Navy and as the recipient of both the Nobel Peace Prize and Congressional Medal of Honor, he fully understood that superior sea power sustains peace and is a deterrent to war.

The Navy League has grown from these strong roots to become the foremost citizen's organization to serve, support and stand with all U.S. sea services - the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S. flagged Merchant Marine.

With a network of more than 275 councils (click here to learn more about the Stockton Council), representing more than 65,000 members around the globe (click here to find out how to become a member), Navy Leaguers are widely respected by leaders throughout government, industry and the military for their support and patriotic service to our men and women in uniform.

Our Mission

  • To support the men and women of the U.S. Sea Services and their families

  • To support policies and legislation that strengthen the U.S. Sea Services

  • To educate and motivate U.S. citizens about naval matters.

  • To educate government officials on important naval issues.
